CASE STUDY: HOW ISIS SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS HELPED A GLOBAL SECURITY SERVICES FIRM CONSOLIDATE OPERATIONS AND REDUCE COSTS

Client: G4S Government Services is part of G4S, the world's largest security solutions provider. As part of their integrated solutions offering, they provide comprehensive solutions to Federal, State, Local, and International Governments. Their solutions include: Electronic Monitoring of Offenders, Residential and Non-Residential Youth Services, Community Supervision Services, Consulting and Compliance Monitoring, Immigration Support Services, and Offender Management.

Challenge: In 2008, G4S Government Services, sought to consolidate U.S. accounting operations in their Atlanta office, which included adding G4S Youth Services, a separate division with multiple locations that specialized in outsourced youth correctional facility management along with G4S Justice Services, a full service electronic monitoring and community supervision company, with 34 locations across the country. Both divisions ran separate accountings systems that did not allow consolidated reporting or processing. To realize savings from their consolidation efforts, they needed to establish integrated information systems and retain a dedicated technical support that understood their business processes. While strongly relying on technology, the organization did not have the technical expertise to support the integrated accounting platform they needed. In addition, applications needed to be managed locally but be available to users throughout the United States

Strategy: Seek an accounting software partner that could provide planning, implementation, ongoing project management and dependable technical support. Their partner would need to see the “big picture” and assist them in providing a solution built around how their business worked, while having the real world accounting experience to suggest areas or methods to improve efficiency.

Isis conducted a thorough needs assessment and developed a proposal based on stated goals. The solution: Relocate applications to the Atlanta office and establish remote connectivity via Terminal Services to shared applications. Leverage the investment in Microsoft Dynamics SL by adding multi-company, order management, and inventory capabilities, along with a fixed asset module to reduce time in recording depreciation. Implement a document imaging solution to streamline procurement/payment processes and increase audit compliance. Utilize AP Laser Check software to reduce potential fraud and save valuable staff resources. Isis’ experts also manage SQL database backups and work hand in hand with internal IT staff to ensure data integrity.

Results: Today, Isis provides support throughout the company and continues to manage accounting application technology that supports G4S Government Services growing business. Isis works with the internal IT staff to ensure reliable local and remote access to business critical data. Isis’ support staff provides proactive and reactive support to all locations, quickly on demand, allowing G4S Government Services to focus on what it does best – providing comprehensive security solutions to the Federal, State, Local, and International Governments.
